Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist - Campus role is responsible for talent acquisition efforts of the San Jose office for the internship program. The process of sourcing, recruiting, and selecting college financial advisors is conducted and continuously improved by this individual. The Talent Acquisition Specialist builds quality relationships to promote the Northwestern Mutual internship opportunity, generate referrals and build lasting relationships on campuses in the greater Los Angeles area. The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in executing recruiting strategies for the firm. Creativity, exceptional communication skills and drive to achieve are critical in this position.

What you’ll be doing…

Sourcing & Selection

•Build and develop effective referral sources

  • In-office: current and former interns, advisors, staff, leaders
  • On-campus: professors, department heads, athletics, career services, student orgs

•Actively participate in campus clubs and organizations to promote and brand the firm

•Coordinate advertising and marketing strategies on campus

•Develop relationships with other Northwestern Mutual recruiters to share leads and best practices

•Determine, schedule and coordinate on-campus recruiting activities

•Screen candidates, conduct initial interviews and guide candidates through the selection process

•Communicate effectively regarding all aspects of the financial representative career


Accountability, Tracking, and Analysis

•Develop proficiency and use of home office-supported software to maintain candidate databases and accurate records of prospects to ensure efficiency of the selection process

•Participate in all leadership team meetings and the preparation of activity/results reports

•Analyze recruiting ratios in selection process; establish and implement improvements

•Oversight of contract and licensing responsibilities


On-Boarding, Training and Development

•Own intern experience from offer accept through entirety and completion of internship program

•Develop training and mentoring programs to increase intern productivity
