Job Title: Foreman The Foreman will be responsible for leading hourly unionized employees, preparing the team to operate safely while still focusing on the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead yard operators and trade people during the daily yard operations
- Manage the work area housekeeping and ground maintenance to the yard
- Communicate using a Handheld radio with yard employees regarding material purchase and yard safety
- Support the variety of activities essential not limited to loaders, excavators/mobiles shear, Material handler and other equipment used in yard operation
- Report every safety observation in the yard and report to the manager
- Perform preventative maintenance as required on all equipment
- Perform Torch cutting as required to the Ferrous materials
- Perform repair as required to equipment
- Operate heavy equipment used in loading/unloading of ferrous or nonferrous material
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements: - 1-3 years of leadership roles (military, lead hand, supervisor or management experience)
- Ability to lead inside and outside workforce
- Ability to build and retain a strong team
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Completion of High School and/or equivalent
- Knowledge of Automotive components is a definite asset
- Mechanical or electrical tickets are considered an asset
