Completion of a state-approved CNA or completion of a medical assistant/patient care assistant with skills in venipuncture and EKGnnHeartsaver and/ or BCLS Certification from American Heart AssociationnnCollective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSHnnSEIU 1199 at Mount Sinai Hospital, 761 - Neurosurgery ICU CC - MSH, Mount Sinai HospitalnnResponsibilitiesnnPerforms procedures as associated with activities of daily living and personal hygiene of the patient.nnObserves, reports, and records routine and specific patient data, behaviors and reposes to treatment on appropriate flow sheet.nnPerforms procedures associated with the admission, transfer and discharge of patients.nnPerforms procedures associated with the maintenance of food or fluid intake.nnPerforms procedures associated with excretion of body waste and/or loss of fluids.nnProvides for safe and comfortable movement of patients in accordance with the principles of good body mechanics. Utilizes mechanical devices as necessary.nnPerforms simple applications of heat and cold.nnProvides care to the body of deceased patients in preparation for removal to the morgue. Provides support to the family/significant others. Secures property.nnObtains, assembles and maintains equipment for use during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.nnAssists members of the health care team with physical exam and other procedures.nnPerforms errands away from the area of assignment to implement the care of patients including transporting stat specimens and/or obtaining supplies as necessary, i.e., equipment for Team 7000.nnMaintains a clean, uncluttered and tidy environment.nnMaintains equipment and cleans as necessary.
