We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team and play a critical role in bidding for projects exceeding $200M.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale projects, including commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and office developments.
- Develop comprehensive bid strategies and present cost analyses to leadership, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.
- Analyze architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather insights and ensure cost estimates reflect project needs and complexities.
- Evaluate and negotiate pricing with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify cost-saving opportunities during the pre-construction phase.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and material/labor costs.
- Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of bidding on projects valued over $200M.
- Expertise in vertical construction projects, including commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and office sectors.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
