Loads and delivers meal components and/or cased goods as assigned to IPS schools. Drives a refrigerated delivery truck with a 20-foot box and hydraulic lift gate. Verifies the amount ordered is the amount delivered to each location. Records delivery discrepancies and products returned on the appropriate form. Records equipment temperatures as assigned. Assists in moving foodservice equipment as assigned. Completes assigned tasks in an organized and efficient manner in the time allotted for completion. Shift start time and the work week is determined by the type of products being delivered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DELIVERIES
Loads truck with meals components, supplies, and other cased foods as assigned. Secures load as needed. Delivers meal components, supplies, and other foods to the schools assigned and in the prescribed route order. Places products into specified refrigerated, frozen, or storeroom locations. Verifies the amount ordered is the amount delivered to each location. Records discrepancies between the amounts ordered and amounts delivered on the appropriate form. Records the temperature of refrigerators on the appropriate form, as assigned. Picks up returned meal components, counts and records the quantities returned, and discards the returned food in the proper location, as assigned. Exchanges foodservice mail envelopes, money bags, as assigned. Returns empty food baskets, dollies, and pallets to the proper location.
HOUSEKEEPING AND MAINTENANCE
Keeps box and cab of assigned truck clean and free of debris. Reports repairs needed to the truck and all delivery equipment to the appropriate person. Checks and maintains oil and fluid levels, tire pressure, and conducts preventative maintenance inspections weekly.
MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES
Assists with moving foodservice equipment to and from schools and the Foodservice Center. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties as evaluated in a performance review. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or general education degree (GED) required; one to three years related experience and/or training. Driving experience in food delivery is preferred. Must have a safe driving record.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, delivery records, street and building signage, and maps written in English. Writes simple correspondence and speaks effectively in English to supervisors, IPS foodservice drivers, and other IPS employees. Ability to communicate clearly with contracted hourly worker.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Performs simple, three-digit mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Performs these calculations related to counting the number of meal component baskets or cases of food and supplies delivered or returned.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, recommend and implement solutions. Ability to quickly modify operations in emergency conditions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B or Class A and a satisfactory physical evaluation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, and individual must be able to perform the following activities without restrictions: handle packaged food; handle cased food and supplies; handle detergents and other cleaning solutions; drive a 20-foot box delivery truck; regularly lift and position materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds; move and position loaded transport dollies (400 - 500 pounds); sustain walking or standing on hard, sometimes slippery surfaces or uneven surfaces and frequently push, pull, stoop, and/or bend. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, an individual is regularly exposed to conditions that are typical of food and supply delivery situations. These conditions include: outside weather conditions (temperature, humidity and precipitation); refrigerator temperatures (38°- 40°F) and freezer temperatures (-12°); noise produced from equipment and delivery trucks; aromas from chemical characteristics of cleaning solutions; truck exhaust fumes; and risks of cuts, burns, strains, contusions, electrical shock and other injuries from failure to follow safety precautions and procedures in the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of trucks, delivery equipment, school equipment, and the physical environment.
