Summary
Excellent opportunity at Maine Medical Center Sanford Campus. This campus serves the inpatient behavioral health care program with approximately 40 beds and Emergency services patient dining. Our campus serves a large workforce in our cafe dining room and offers a 24-hour self-service program.
Recently, we have completely upgraded the kitchen cooking line with new equipment and a full renovation of our cafeteria.
We are looking for a strong culinarian with excellent business and management skills to take over a program that has established quality menus and a long-term staff of dedicated workers. This is a hands-on position that oversees the daily management of the department and fills in when necessary to accomplish the goals of the Nutrition Services team.
As part of MaineHealth you will be using all your best skills in a setting that is primarily Monday to Friday day shifts, and serves high quality food from scratch menu items and offers generous time off and competitive salary.
The Chef Manager supports and collaborates with the Director of Hospitality Services and other Nutrition Services department leadership to manage unit/service activities and has 24 hour responsibility. Coordinates a program to provide nutrition services to patients, visitors and staff in accordance with standards set by agencies such as Joint Commission and DHHS, coordinates these activities with other departments to ensure timely, safe, and efficient operation of the organization.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- License/Certifications: ServSafe Certified required. Valid driver's license required.
- Experience: A minimum of five years' experience in Healthcare Foodservice Management preferred.
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office applications.
