OverviewnnRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Seasonal ProgramnnAre you an RRT who enjoys the laidback lifestyle and Southern charm of Tennessee? Covenant Health is now offering limited-time SEASONAL contracts to experienced RRT’s at our East Tennessee hospitals.nnFor questions or to request more information, call (865) 368-7313 .nnProgram Overview: This program will offer 16 week contracts to RRT’s with the potential to renew contract once, for up to 32 weeks maximum per year. This seasonal role is not eligible for benefits. In addition to apremium hourly pay rate, we are offering a completion bonus, paid at the end of your contract. This bonus is contingent upon meeting all shift requirements and performance metrics during the contract period. Covenant Health is the only healthcare system in East Tennessee to be named six times by Forbes as a Best Employer.nnWork Schedule: Seasonal Registered Respiratory Therapists will be required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period (36 hours per week) and 2 weekends per month OR 4 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period. You will also be required to work 2 holiday shifts per 16 weeks. If there are emergent staffing needs, you may be asked to float to another Covenant Health facility within close proximity to your assigned facility.nnBoth day shift and night shift opportunities are available. The standard is a 12 hour shift, with day shift running from 7 am to 7 pm and night shift from 7 pm to 7 am. Shifts can vary based on the needs of the assigned department.nnCurrent Covenant Health employees arenot eligiblefor this program. Expresses sound judgment.nnDemonstrates the ability to provide appropriate communication to nursing personnel and/or physicians and other hospital staff as necessary. Must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills on all socioeconomic levels using tact, articulation and in a professional manner.nnDemonstrates competency/proficiency in mechanical ventilation, CPAP, and BiPAP skills to include current modes of ventilation, indications for use, and calculations of necessary data.nnDemonstrates competency/proficiency in the performance of arterial blood gases and analysis per department policy and procedure. Quality control, troubleshooting, and quality assurance per department policy and procedures.nnQualificationsnnMinimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.nnMinimum Experience: Must have documented experience necessary to obtain state license. Two (2) years of experience required.nnLicensure Requirement: Valid RRT Credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist by the State of Tennessee Health Related Boards with ABG endorsement. Current work-permit acceptable per state regulations.
