The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of surgical patients who come under his /her care.
The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the physician with the preparation of and the technical aspects of the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures.
Performs routine technical and various other duties as required.
Skills/Abilities:
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to work with detailed, confidential material, computer experience required.
Ability to follow directions and work with precision under pressure.
Maintains sensitivity, maturity, and flexibility in coping with difficult situations
QUALIFICATIONS
BLS and ACLS
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
The ability to stand for extended periods.
Strong technical skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
Requires a minimum of two years of current Surgical Tech experience.
Graduate from a fully accredited Surgical Tech certification program
Active unencumbered Texas Surgical Technologist state license
One year of Epic experience
Requirements

Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
