  • The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of surgical patients who come under his /her care.
  • The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the physician with the preparation of and the technical aspects of the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures.
  • Performs routine technical and various other duties as required.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with detailed, confidential material, computer experience required.
  • Ability to follow directions and work with precision under pressure.
  • Maintains sensitivity, maturity, and flexibility in coping with difficult situations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Surgical Tech experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Surgical Tech certification program
  • Active unencumbered Texas Surgical Technologist state license
  • One year of Epic experience
