The Rethink Trucking Team supports transportation for our Commissary Kitchen, Rethink Certified Program and Rethink's in-kind donations. The Trucking Team Member responsibilities span both driving and food distribution assistance.
Non-CDL hourly: $23-25 per hour plus benefits
CDL hourly: $25-27 per hour plus benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes the pre and post route checklist every shift; communicates any issues to Supervisor
- Safely transports food from donor to kitchen and from kitchen to CBO, filling out all required paperwork needed to document these processes, following the standard operating procedures
- Ensures all food contact equipment used is clean, dry and organized before starting on route
- Returns food donor equipment on truck routes, ensuring it is in good condition
- Picks up Rethink equipment from CBOs and delivers back to the Rethink kitchen
- Supports Trucking and Culinary team when needed; storing food in the walk in refrigerator in accordance with regulatory agencies’ storage guidelines
- Maintains all safety guidelines; follows all traffic regulations, ensures trucks have gas and are operating normally throughout shift, follows Covid-19 protocol and wears appropriate PPE in the field
- Cleans trucks once a week
- Notifies Supervisor of any equipment breakage or issues throughout shift
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License from the Tri-State area and clean driving record
- Minimum 3 years commercial driving experience
- No more than one minor infraction on driving record in last 5 years
- Drivers are required to maintain a safe following distance at all times.
- Drivers are required to participate in driver training, including videos and in-person
trainings as offered or otherwise, in accordance with company policy, which may be
updated from time to time. - Drivers are responsible for providing their own auto insurance for personal vehicles, which must include liability and collision coverage and must otherwise be in compliance with applicable federal, state or local law.
