Position Purpose
The bartender prepares alcoholic beverages and nonalcoholic beverages to the guests in a timely fashion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up the mise en place for the featured cocktails
- Ensure bar is stocked up
- Inform manager when items run low
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated at the bar
- Clear bar area after guests leave, take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing
- Respond immediately and appropriately to guest requests
- Communicate with server, host and Maitre’ D to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service
- Thank guests as they are leaving
- Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness and immaculate uniform presentation
- Be a team player; help out fellow staff whenever possible
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Must be able to follow directions with focus to detail
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job- carry/push cart with beverage heavy trays from time to time. (40lb)
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Experience: At least three years in high volume, upscale restaurant or hotel
