Easterseals NY is hiring a full time Occupational Therapist.nn$3,000 Sign on bonus for successful candidatesnnSalary Range:$60,420.00-63,420.00nnPosition Summary:nnOur Occupational Therapists are part of a large interdisciplinary team that includes Psychiatry, Psychology, nursing, behavior specialists, speech pathologists, nutritionists, physical therapists, and social work. This team comes together to design the most innovative and creative approach to meeting the unmet needs of our children. We value the knowledge, experience, passion, and creativity of our clinical staff and encourage them to put their best practices into use as well as trying new and innovative strategies.nnThe Occupational Therapist will support students in individual and group therapy sessions per Individual Education Plan (IEP) requirements as well as supporting classroom and residential teams in the carryover of therapeutic supports across all 24-hours of the individual's day. In addition to direct therapy, the Occupational Therapist will conduct formal standardized evaluations, conduct observational assessments, train staff in wraparound strategies, conduct observations and skill assessments in the residential units, mentor, and coach direct care staff, attend and participate in CSE and residential planning meetings, support family skill development for carryover, and develop treatment plans with commensurate goals for each individual.nnEssential Job Functions:nnWork as a member of the team (with family, staff, and other service providers) to provide quality supports and services for children and their families.nnParticipate in team evaluations to determine the developmental status and initial or ongoing eligibility.nnDevelop IFSP's with other team members.nnMaintain professional standards, and current skills in therapy techniques.nnProvide occupational therapy services for children.nnWrite progress notes on-time schedule addressing the child's strengths, needs, and progress.nnComplete record keeping as required by licensing/certifying agency.nnAid in maintaining equipment and workspace.nnAttend staff meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as assigned.nnAssist in staff development and training.nnEducation and Experience:nnMaster's Degree.nnCurrent and Valid New York State Occupational Therapy License.nnTwo (2) years of experience providing Occupational Therapy services to the respective community highly preferred.nnDesire to work with the clients in both a school and residential setting.nnPossess ability to function as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.nnValid driver's license and reliable transportation.nnThe Fedcap Group provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
