It’s a perfect blend of big-city amenities and Southern charm.nnHeart Cath Lab:nnThe mission of the Heart Catheterization Laboratory is to provide a comprehensive quality of care approach for individuals requiring emergency and non-emergency cardiovascular procedures.nnThe Heart Catheterization Laboratory offers the services of diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures, cardiac device implant procedures, and diagnostic and interventional peripheral vascular procedures.nnWe perform procedures in 2 electrophysiology rooms, 3 heart cath labs, 1 peripheral vascular lab, and the hybrid operating room are all part of the Parkwest Heart Cath Lab. Staff members are expected to learn all roles within their scope of practice to allow for greater staffing flexibility and enhanced productivity.nnOur expert cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons work very closely with highly trained RNs, RTs, and registered cardiovascular invasive specialists (RCIS) to deliver excellent patient care.nnOur team members work Monday – Friday, and we run call teams on weekends and holidays.nnWe offer a variety of work schedules ranging from five 8 hour shifts, four 10 hour days, and three-12 hour shifts with on call required.nnPosition Summary:nnProvide assistance to the cardiologist or cardiac surgeon in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures, measuring cardiovascular parameters such as cardiac output, blood flow velocity, cardiovascular dynamics, cardiac electrophysiology parameters, intracardiac shunt detection, valve flow/valve area determinations, intracardiac pressure measurements, oximetry determination, cineangiocardiography, and the measurement and calculation of cardiac function indices. The technologist assists in all phases of catheterization procedure including insertion of the catheter, operation of various electronic instruments and calculation of hemodynamic data.nnRecruiter: Kimberlin Woods || || 865-374-5403nnResponsibilitiesnnPossesses clinical expertise and knowledge of unit to independently resolve complex patient management and physician issues.nnServes as a role model by assuming the role of team leader and the responsibilities of a preceptor; and, cross-trains other areas and provides education to the community and department.nnMaintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, general safety and radiation safety standards, and equipment quality control.nnActively participates in the orientation and training of new employees and students.nnDemonstrates proficiency in complex clinical skills to include: right and left heart catheterizations, PTCI's, stemi’s, ablations and pacemakers.nnDemonstrates proficiency in cardiac anatomy and physiology, correlating pressure wave forms and rhythm analysis.nnProficient in patient assessment, monitoring and sterile technique as required.nnAssists in the maintenance and effective use of all equipment and supplies in the clinical areas.nnMember of department or hospital committee with documented participation of 75%.nnResponds appropriately and timely to patients, physicians and other customer needs.nnProvides nine (9) credit hours of in-service training per year.nnFollows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.nnPerforms other related duties as assigned or requestednnQualificationsnnMinimum Education:nnNone specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.nnMinimum Experience:nnMinimum of three (3) years of professional experience, including at least two (2) years of professional Cath Lab experience.
