Position Summary:

n

This is an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) job opening. Only experienced APPs within cardiology will be considered. No new graduates.

n

Advanced Practice Professional will provide health care and specialized health services to patients and families enrolled in Cardiology Medicine. The APP will coordinate care of this patient population in collaboration with all members of the health care team. This position will be split between outpatient and inpatient, with 8–10-hour shifts. Contingent position will cover for open shifts for IP/OP depending on the need. Clinic patient and rounding on inpatient.

Duties & Responsibilities:

    n
  1. n In collaboration with physician(s), APP will provide independent acute and/or routine medical care to a patients and families enrolled in Cardiology Medicine.nn

  3. n Writes appropriate orders, if/when applicablenn
  4. n
  5. n Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methodsnn
  6. n
  7. n Coordinates the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinicnn
  8. n
  9. n Writes progress notes in EMR indicating patient status and treatment procedures performednn
  10. n
  11. n Provides health education to patients, families, and/or community health practitioners and groupsnn
  12. n
  13. n Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshopnn
  14. n
  15. n May perform clinical research related to specific operationsnn

  17. n Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assignednn

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
