Line Cooks (Chefs / Kitchen Prep / Kitchen Team Members) We are excited to offer positions with our Mekiko Team. You will learn the Mekiko style of food preparation. We pay a high hourly rate based on experience and offer additional service fee tip sharing paid out in your weekly check. The Willingness and Ability to Cross-Train and Work in Multiple Positions Skills to Make the Grade - Multi-tasking, following recipes to create delicious dishes Responsibilities Properly learn and execute all of our recipe procedures Maintain cleanliness throughout kitchen Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedures Communicate ticket times to Team Members Keep food orders flowing continuously from the kitchen Job Qualifications - Must be at least 18 years of age, any culinary education is a plus Good knife skills, knowledge of meat and fish prep. Perform the Physical Demands - Remain on your feet for several hours at a time, ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, withstand high-temperature conditions, bend, kneel, and stoop Prefer kitchen experience of 6 months minimum. Be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Pays up to $20 per hour Mekiko Cantina offers a Kitchen Education & Appreciation Program. A 3% fee, applied to each bill, allows our kitchen staff to share in the success of the restaurant and creates a better guest experience. This fee is paid out to the back-of-house team every week. It helps Mekiko attract and develop top talent, fosters teamwork, rewards consistency, encourages creativity, and elevates the expectations of our entire staff.
