A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Systems Administrator. Position type: Full-time - Contract Duration: 12 Months Location: Newport News, VA 23607 As a Systems Administrator, you will: Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. 6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters Experienced Senior, Windows Server Administrator, with experience in Windows Server 2022 and later. Responsible for administration, support and optimization of the Windows Server Operating based systems in virtualized and non-virtualized environments. Candidate should have strong trouble shooting and scripting skills, as well as VMWare knowledge. Description: Candidate should have a complete understanding of the Windows Server operating systems. Experience supporting Windows Servers in an ESX virtual environment and on Physical hardware. Additional knowledge of SAN storage, ESX Virtual Center, and Simplivity hardware is a plus. The use of PowerShell and other scripting tools are highly desired. Duties include administrative operational and technical support for a variety of different Windows servers that are geographically dispersed across the country, which includes the following items: system patching & upgrades, capacity planning, performance monitoring, problem resolution, providing timely metrics on server availability, and implementation and maintenance of customer and Security procedures. Familiarity with the processes and procedures for server upgrades and data migration tools. Understand SOX controls to support financial systems. Top Skills: Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of IT systems. Experience supporting Windows Servers in an ESX virtual environment and on Physical hardware. PowerShell or other scripting languages is a must. Effective problem-solving and attention to details.
