This busy and thriving independent veterinary practice located in down-town Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Veterinarian to join their team. As a prominent veterinary practice in the heart of the city, they pride themselves on providing exceptional care to their furry patients and their owners.

The team here offers a supportive and collaborative work environment for all members. The hospital has over 200 employees including a fantastic support team of over 60 RVTs and 60 animal care workers. They are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and a dedicated surgical suite.

Located in the heart of Toronto, the practice is easily accessible and has free underground parking. Running the operation, they have two very experienced and well-respected ER directors who are there to mentor and support Veterinarians where needed.

Key Duties:

• Providing emergency medical care to patients, including triage, diagnosis, treatment, and hospitalization
• Performing surgical procedures when necessary
• Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records
• Collaborating with other veterinarians and staff to provide the best possible care for patients
• Communicating effectively with clients, staff, and referring veterinarians

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements:

• DVM degree
• Unrestricted license to practice in Ontario
• Ideally some emergency medicine experience
• Experience with surgical procedures, although it isn’t a requirement to perform emergency surgeries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple cases simultaneously
• Availability to work overnight shifts and weekends
