Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Arroyo Vista Family Health Center is a network of four federally qualified community health
centers and a mobile clinic established in 1981 and located in Los Angeles. We provide
comprehensive, affordable, quality, primary, specialty, and urgent health care services in a
compassionate, linguistically appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner regardless of ability to
pay. Our services include medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, radiology, ultrasound,
mammography, laboratory, pharmacy, and health education. We are accredited by The Joint
Commission for ambulatory services and certified as a Primary Care Medical Home. We serve as
a clinical training center for medical students and nurse practitioners through our affiliation with
local universities.

Job Description
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) will assess patients' psychosocial status as it relates
to substance abuse and mental health, and communicate with physicians to report patient
progress, needs, concerns, and potential and actual clinical issues. The LCSW will provide
individual and group counseling to patients in a strengths-based, culturally sensitive linguistically
appropriate, and compassionate manner. The LCSW will provide brief therapy implementing
appropriate evidence-based practices and interventions in client sessions. The LCSW will
establish a strong rapport with patients. The LCSW will prepare and maintain all pertinent
records, statistics, and progress notes in a time-sensitive manner. The LCSW will work closely
with all members of the health care team in the development of treatment plans, based on
counseling assessment and social work interventions. The LCSW will partner with the Behavioral
Health Case Manager to refer patients to appropriate specialty services and community agencies
as appropriate. The LCSW will assist with ongoing clinical training, support, workshops, and in-
services to Agency staff as needed.
Requirements
• Master's Degree in Social Work
• Valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences
• Minimum three (3) years of LCSW experience
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to write clear concise reports
• Knowledge of and experience with providing substance abuse and mental health
assessments and counseling
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and therapeutic treatment models including
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, etc.
• Experience in an outpatient clinic setting
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Strong commitment to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics
including principles of social justice, empowerment and self-determination of individuals
• Ability to work well with others in a professional manner in a team oriented environment
• Valid CA driver's license, access to an automobile and state-required auto liability
coverage
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable
