Job Summary: The Food Runner at Ostras is responsible for ensuring that food is delivered promptly and accurately to guests. This role involves coordinating with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain efficient service flow and provide exceptional dining experiences. The Food Runner plays a crucial role in supporting the overall service team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Delivery:
• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guest tables quickly and accurately.
• Ensure that all orders are complete and properly plated according to restaurant standards.
• Communicate any special requests or dietary needs to the kitchen and ensure they are met.
• Service Support:
• Assist servers in clearing and resetting tables.
• Refill water glasses and provide additional service support to guests as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and service stations.
• Team Coordination:
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food.
• Coordinate with servers and bussers to maintain efficient service flow.
• Assist in running food and beverages during busy periods.
• Quality Assurance:
• Inspect dishes before delivery to ensure they meet the restaurant’s standards of presentation and quality.
• Address any issues or discrepancies with the kitchen staff promptly.
• Ensure that all food items are served at the correct temperature.
• Guest Interaction:
• Engage with guests courteously and professionally, responding to inquiries and requests.
• Provide information about menu items and specials as needed.
• Ensure that guests have a positive dining experience by addressing their needs promptly.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
• Previous experience as a food runner or in a similar role in a fine dining establishment is preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with fine dining service protocols is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
