As a Infrastructure Architect Sr of within PNC’s Infrastructure Platform Solution organization. This position is based in either Phoenix, AZ or Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH or Dallas, TX or Birmingham, AL. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager’s discretion.Successful infrastructure architects are individual contributors who seek to continuously improve the quality and reliability of IT infrastructure. They are experts in all aspects of infrastructure design and architecture and have extensive understanding of related areas such as network, application, and platform architecture. They are progressive thinkers, effective written and verbal communicators, and can influence and drive direction for engineering teams. As necessary, they provide documentation and training to enable engineers and implementors. •\tContributes and assists in developing the organization's technology architecture and plays a leading role in the vision and development of the company's future technology strategy. •\tCreates and documents infrastructure designs and ensures upgrades are made in accordance with established standards, patterns, policies, procedures, and software licensing agreements. •\tContributes and assists in interpreting technology requirements and develops scalable infrastructure solutions to solve business problems. •\tDevelops internal standards and appropriate design artifacts that align with long-term business strategies, and tracks industry changes against current technology and practices. •\tReviews and advises current and future design standards for infrastructure system builds; provides input on risk, scalability, operational/cost efficiency, quality, and impact on the enterprise. •\tResearches, identifies, and tests technology products; performs proof of concepts of new technologies to determine if they are a good fit for the company and drives introduction of new technology where needed. •\tCreates roadmaps and strategies for progressing the technology footprint. •\tProvides leadership, technology guidance, and mentorship within the IT organization. •\tParticipates in the training and support of engineering and operations groups. •\tConsults with vendors and salespeople to evaluate new products and technologies. Qualifications: •\tExpertise in enterprise infrastructure design, including public cloud, networking, Windows/Linux operating system environments, storage area networks, and other related infrastructure components. •\tThorough grasp of virtualization technologies and related concepts, such as storage, compute, network virtualization, HCI, IaaS, container orchestration, automation, and resource planning. •\tHands-on familiarity with next-gen firewalls, implementation of stateful access-control lists, or application segmentation. •\tExperience designing and building cloud environments using AWS or Azure. •\tStrong understanding of cyber security principles and technologies. •\tExperience with disaster recovery planning. •\tFamiliarity with modern software development and DevOps concepts, workflow management, site reliability, continuous delivery and integration, microservices, RESTful APIs, and common application infrastructure patterns. •\tExperience with automation and scripting using tools such as Ansible and Terraform •\tAbility to work well in both a team setting and independently to meet business objectives. •\tAbility to conceptualize, formulate, and present complex solutions to a wide audience. •\tExcellent written and oral communication skills. •\tExcellent documentation skills, including experience creating and maintaining architectural governance, process, standards, and policies.
