Position Summary:
n
Our Physical Rehabilitation Specialists evaluate patients' functions and implement tailored treatment plans to enhance or restore function. You will engage in an interdisciplinary approach to community education and clinical mentorship for affiliate students, with potential responsibilities for cross-site coverage.

Education/Certification Requirements:
n
n - Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program with at least a B.S. degree
n - Current licensure in Physical Therapy in Connecticut
n - Certification as a Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist is mandatory
n
n
Key Competencies:
n
n - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
n - Proficiency in personal computer use, especially with Windows-based applications
n - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is advantageous
n - Reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites as required
n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
n

n - Evaluate patients in line with departmental standards.
n - Conduct and adapt evaluations according to patient symptoms and medical history, setting realistic and measurable goals.
n - Administer suitable therapeutic exercises focusing on strength, endurance, coordination, and range of motion.
n - Utilize physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to alleviate pain and achieve treatment goals.
n - Apply effective strategies to support normal motor activity and learning.
n - Educate patients and families on home exercise routines and functional activities to promote independence.
n - Assess patient progress and determine when to discharge, if appropriate.
n - Document patient information following insurance guidelines and departmental policies.
n - Enhance interdepartmental and physician communication regarding patient care.
n - Submit accurate daily charge reports.
n - Adhere to professional ethical guidelines as set by APTA and our facility.
n - Utilize proper body mechanics and safety procedures to prevent injuries.
n - Supervise at least one student per year from an affiliated program.
n - Participate in continuing education to advance treatment techniques.
n - Engage in departmental or community educational initiatives as documentation of participation.
