( Harborview Medical Center – Rehabilitation - ACUTE CARE has an outstanding opportunity for a OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST 1 (PER DIEM, DAYS).nnThis individual will assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe occupational therapy. This will include progression of treatment goals and patient and family education. The OT1 will assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and situations and utilize training in the evaluation and treatment process. Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care. Implement treatment programs, which include addressing sensorimotor deficits, daily living skills, cognition and therapeutic adaptations. This may include use of therapeutic exercise, physical agents, manual therapy, and splinting.nnWHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?nnDemonstrate working knowledge of the disease process, precautions, typical medical treatment and diagnostic procedures, functional, abilities, complications and implications of long term deficits related to primary diagnoses treated in service area.nnProvide skilled, timely and effective patient care.nnFollow protocols, standards and guidelines of care relating to specific diagnosis on assigned service.nnPlan treatment programs with the patient and treatment team.nnDocument intervention and strategies for treatment in required organizational systems. Documentation is to include assessment, measurable criteria, goals method of treatment, home programs and adapting plan according to patient’s response to intervention.nnParticipate in team rounds and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.nnProvide home programs and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.nnKnowledge of other treatment team member’s roles with intervention and effective methods to collaborate in patient’s treatment.nnFollow billing and reimbursement procedures.nnComply with agency and division standards, protocols procedures.nnParticipate in discipline and workgroup meetings.nnParticipate in Quality Assurance as it relates to patient care.nnArticulate and integrate safety policies and procedures into daily practice.nnProvide recommendations and justification for equipment needs of patients. WHAT’S NEEDED?nnGraduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and successful completion of American Occupational Therapy certification examination.nnCurrent Washington State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist or a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy.ORnnEquivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
