Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer
Job Specialty: Diagnostic Services
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Variable start and end times, including weekend day shifts and on-call weeknights and weekends)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: 4-5 years of adult experience preferred, not required
License: ND State License in adult echo (willing to obtain, processing takes 4-6 weeks)
Certifications: ARDCS or RCS
Must-Have:
- Fast-paced, high-volume experience
- Ability to perform agitated bubble studies
- Pediatric experience required (pediatric patients are less than 10% of the patients, primarily adult)
- On-call availability
Job Description:
- Perform adult echocardiography using Definity and Agitated Saline on exams in a fast-paced, high-volume echo department.
- Conduct both inpatient and outpatient studies.
- Perform Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Exercise Stress, and Dobutamine Stress Echo, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Watchmen procedures, and Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE), if experienced and as time permits.
- Utilize equipment such as EPIC- CUPID- TOM TECH Reporting and PACS. Familiarity with Philips brand echo machines, including EPIC 7, IE33, and CX50.
- Work within a department equipped with six echo machines across three rooms. Most hospital patients are scanned bedside.
- Hybrid position primarily focusing on adult echo; however, pediatric echo scanning is required and may require rotating to pediatric outpatient facilities for scans and orientation.
- Interaction with pediatric patients will depend on departmental staffing and the volume of pediatric echoes needed.
