Position Overview:

As a Physical Therapist, you will provide tailored treatment to patients by evaluating their needs and applying appropriate therapies to enhance or restore function. You will work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team for community education and the clinical training of students, and may also cover multiple sites.

Education & Certification:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program with at least a B.S. degree
  • Current Connecticut Physical Therapy license is required

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Windows-based applications
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is beneficial
  • Reliable transportation required for travel between multiple work sites

Essential Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting evaluations in accordance with departmental standards
  2. Creating and modifying individualized treatment plans based on patient evaluations
  3. Administering therapeutic exercises and physical modalities to relieve pain
  4. Educating patients and their families on exercise programs for independent living
  5. Documenting patient progress accurately in line with insurance requirements
  6. Communicating effectively with other departments and referring physicians
  7. Maintaining ethical standards and proper safety practices
  8. Supervising at least one student each year and attending continuing education seminars
  9. Participating in departmental or community educational programs
