A surgical tech or SPD role at CommonSpirit Health is not just an opportunity to be a difference-maker, it's the chance to harness the knowledge, support and potential that surrounds you.nnAs a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech with CommonSpirit Health you will:nnWorks under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.nnAssist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.nnAssist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.nnDay to Day duties:nnScrub on all cases.nnOrtho heavy Dept. totals/trauma/ sports Medicine. Spine, Ortho Spine w/navigation, Podiatry, Plastics, Endo, Cysto, Urology, GI, Robotics (DaVinci XI/MAKO), Gen, ENT, Hands GYN, Urology.nnAssociates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams.nnGiving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.nnAssisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.nnMaintain Sterile field during procedures.nnHanding instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.nnMaintaining and updating preference cards.nnSchedule-PRN- Minimum of 5 shifts per 6 week schedule -two holidays per yrnnAs Needed for days or mid-shift for candidate availability. Either Days or Mid-shiftnnCall not required- can take call if desired or if extra shifts are availablennQualifications:nnIn addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:nnBasic Computer skills required.nnOne year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.nnExperience in a specialty field preferred.nnHS Diploma/GED requirednnCompletion of an approved Surgical Technician program requirednnBLS from the American Heart Association requirednnCurrent registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech requirednnCertification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) requirednnPhysical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)nnYour Connected Community:nnWhen people and places align, incredible things happen. Built on the pillars of convenience, wellness and person-centered care, we offer inpatient and outpatient care at one site, with an emphasis on preventive health, wellness and health education.nnThe surgery department at St. Anthony North Health Campus Hospital consists of 8 OR rooms, 1 cysto room, 1 minor procedure room, a GI room, and a room for pain management. We are an ortho heavy department - fracture management, total hips, knees, and shoulders, and the ortho service continues to grow. We also perform general, ENT, GYN, urology, spine and plastics. The patient mix is comprised mainly of adult surgical patients. Patient care is provided for adult, geriatric, adolescent, and pediatric patients. Our mission is to provide safe care to the surgical patient.
