Radiology Tech Level 1
Radiology Department
PRN positions available
Job Summary:
Assumes responsibility for performing the full range of technical procedures within an assigned special modality area (Mammo, CT, MRI, MN) in addition to Radiology. Is credentialed in secondary modalities. Works under minimal supervision. Responsible for providing patient care during Imaging exams for patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in patent care skills.
Education:
Required to be a graduate of 2 year accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
Certification/Licensure Requirements:
Required to be ARRT registered in Radiography and registered in additional modalities (MRI, CT, US, etc...). Must maintain current licensure in the state of Mississippi (MRT).
Experience:
Obtain formal didactic and/or on-the-job training in additional modalities as required by credentialing or competency requirements.
Language/Communication Skills:
English required. Multi-lingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels from elementary to professional.
Mathematical Skills:
Skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals without a calculator. Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass and weight) and Ultra Sound equivalents.
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multi-tasking skills a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do. Must possess purposeful, self-regulatory judgment which results in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as explanation of the evidential, conceptual, methodological, cretieriological, or contextual considerations upon which that judgment is based.
