Our client is an international Aerospace company that designs and manufactures light plates, integrated switch panels, and control planes used in aircraft flight decks.
Summary: The Electrical Mechanic 2 is a safety sensitive position that requires following procedures for product assembly, fabrication, equipment operation and safety requirements. Responsible for executing the higher complexity work within the wire shop. Guiding and teach entry level employees as a peer mentor.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate technical ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair.
Perform job duties under minimal supervision
Proficient with M3 or equivalent ERP system.
Perform all duties of Electrical Mechanic I proficiently and consistently. Ability to use precision measuring instruments, calipers, micrometers, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
Ability to complete associated paperwork and complete job orders
Responsible for the proper performance of assignments and the prudent handling of product, tools and equipment.
Perform complex connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.
Measures, cuts, insert, and assembles electrical routing materials.
Ability to understand and interpret electrical schematics
Works in a team environment participating in continuous improvement activities.
Utilizes small hand crimp tools, wires striper, wrenches, screwdriver and pliers. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads and applying terminal caps Create, Print and Apply Wire Labels
Route wire through panels and terminate as required
Route wire through closet monument and terminate second end
Understand wire handling and routing instructions.
Interpret standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, job layouts, etc. To accomplish assigned work. Perform tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processes
Responsible for the quality of the product.
Responsible for tool accountability and maintenance within the Electrical Shop area.
Responsible for keeping the work area clean and safe.
Able to provide daily status updates.
Any other duties assigned by a Senior Electrical Mechanic.
Knowledge/Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age.
The Electrical Mechanic Il shall possess a High School diploma or GED.
Preferably 3-5 experience in an aerospace electrical manufacturing environment.
An FAA A&P certificate is desirable but not required.
Experience working with Boeing and Airbus wire specification. Ability to read process specification and documents such as D6-54446 and ABD0100.1.8
Familiarity with common electrical testing equipment (Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Multimeter, ect.)
