Are you a current Radiology Technologist with an interest in cross-training in CT?

The Advanced Imaging Team at Sentara Independence has an opening for a Radiology Tech that will have the opportunity to be cross-trained in CT.

Shift: This is a Full-Time Position with rotating hours - Days, Nights, Weekends

Position Details and Requirements:

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic Radiology systems and preparation of patient room/equipment/medications. Phlebotomy competency for lab may be required for certain sites that do both Radiology and Lab.

This position will also include cross-training as a CT Technologist , with opportunities to expand skills in computed tomography under the guidance of experienced CT staff. Once signed off in CT, the Tech will cover both X-Ray and CT shifts.

Required Education:

Trade School Graduate - RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY

Licenses and Certifications:

Required: Amer Reg of Radiologic Tech, Basic Life Support

Registry eligible graduate in lieu of ARRT, must obtain ARRT registry within 180 days of hire.

• Sleep Disorders Center - The Sentara Sleep Center gives you access to highly skilled physicians and sleep specialists who have years of experience diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.
• Cardiology Services - Echocardiography, Holter Monitoring, and Event Monitoringare supported by a team of registered sonographers

Job Summary

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate (Required) ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) - Certifications - Other/National, Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI Basic managerial experience of coordinating the work of others, Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems
