Job Summary and Qualifications
The Radiologic Technologist must: demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology and maintain a high degree of accuracy in Radiologic positioning and exposure techniques. He/she must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety. The Radiologic Technologists prepare for and assist the physician in the completion of intricate Radiologic examinations. They prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal and hospital regulations. The Radiologic Technologists are the primary liaison between patients and departmental physicians and other members of the support team. They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.
What you will do in this role:
Provide oversight for daily operations in the diagnostic imaging department, including staff scheduling and workflow management.
Assist the department manager in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and hiring decisions.
Monitor and adjust staffing levels to meet departmental productivity metrics.
Coordinate and participate in service recovery by investigating and resolving customer concerns.
Perform diagnostic imaging exams, adhering to established protocols and ensuring the highest quality of care.
Cross-train and support imaging in various environments, including ED, OR, portables, fluoroscopy, and pediatrics.
Educate and inform patients about procedures, ensuring their comfort and addressing any questions or concerns.
Collect and provide accurate patient history and relevant information to radiologists.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment.
Ensure all licenses, certifications, and accreditations are current and compliant with job requirements.
Promote and exemplify the organization's ICARE values in all interactions with patients, families, and staff.
Actively participate in quality improvement (QI) and performance improvement (PI) initiatives.
Support after-hour departmental needs through participation in on-call rotations as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
ARRT registered (R).
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current.
Minimum of two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to coordinate department operations effectively.
