At Securian Financial the internal position title is 2nd VP-Enterprise Technology Head of Reliability Engineering and Operations (Hybrid) Job Overview: Securian is seeking an experienced technology leader to build out and lead our Reliability Engineering delivery team. As the Technology Reliability Engineering & Operations leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our technology strategy by leading a diverse team accountable for both enterprise technology and business segment product development delivery support. The ideal candidate will drive business value by collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders to deliver innovative and scalable technology solutions to enable Securian's Enterprise Strategy, Win with Purpose. The Technology Reliability Engineering leader will report to the Chief Information Officer. This is an officer level position. Core Responsibilities: Develop and execute the technology Reliability Engineering & Operations strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives. Ensure system Reliability and Performance. Develop and enforce reliability standards and best practices to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Drive improvement in Risk Management and Incident Response capabilities. Lead incident response efforts, ensuring quick and effective resolution of any reliability issues. Leadership and team development. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team and Enterprise Technology Ensure the timely and effective delivery of technology services to clients, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, optimize workflows, and enhance service delivery efficiency. Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their technology needs and develop solutions that enable their business operations and growth. Oversee the development and management of service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure service delivery performance. Stay current with industry trends and best practices, evaluating their potential impact on our business to recommend appropriate investments for continuous improvement. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the technology service delivery team. Qualifications: 10 years of experience in a leadership role collaboratively leading assigned technology domain while driving change within an organization. Significant experience maturing an organization to an operational state leveraging reliability engineering best practices. 5 years of experience delivering technology solutions through modern and matrixed Operating Models, including Agile, Globally Delivery and strategic partnerships. Experience leading technology teams, fostering a culture of high performance and inclusivity. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale technology service delivery operations. Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and best practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including the executive team and board of directors. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role within the financial services industry or another highly regulated industry. Advanced degree preferred. The estimated base pay range for this job is $200,000- $300,000. Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. This job may also be eligible for a performance-based incentive program.
