Job Description: Project and Process Manager
Our client is an ISO 90012015 and CWB certified steel fabrication company that has been providing quality steel products to industrial locations since 1989. Our client provides liner and wear products, mine and tunnel ventilation, wear plate processing and general fabrication services to industrial areas including numerous mining, forestry and civil projects and organizations.
The project and process manager role is an integral part of their organization. This individual ensures that projects are audited for quality prior to shipping out the customer. The project and process manager oversees the company’s quality assurance program, performs QA audits, completes non-conformance reports when applicable, coordinates with subcontractors and engineering suppliers, maintains project scheduling, and tracks costs associated to projects. Along with other duties this individual is crucial to ensuring the customer receives what they ordered according to specifications and ensures overall collaboration and project execution within the internal organization.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Managing Quality Assurance Program - Ensuring quality control prior to shipping out
- Performing quality assurance audits according to ISO90012015
- Working on NCRs - minimizing them and managing corrective actions
- Coordinating projects for subcontracted services - industrial painting, engineered stamping, etc.
- Coordinating with Engineering to ensure products are stamped in time for fabrication schedule
- Maintaining welding certificates and work processes
- Maintaining welding registration
- Supervising the drawings/detailers - Ensuring that the detailing/drafting group is on track and accurate in product details
- Maintaining project scheduling
- Consulting with CWB Inspectors
- Ensuring welding processes are updated and maintained to accurately reflect jobs
- Manage all processes with collaboration with Dave and Glenn
- Cost Controller - Change orders, extras addition to spec
- TSSA - wanting to get to testing and inspection of this - process maintenance wants to build a test table and develop the processes.
Skills / Requirements / Qualifications
- Education : Engineering, engineering technologist, post-secondary education in a mechanical related program.
- Experience: Proven experience in overseeing quality control programs, scheduling project work, coordination with engineering, ability to read blueprints.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and precision in inspecting welds.
- Problem-Solving: Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
