Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this role acts as liaison between internal and external business partners optimizing operational rate and preventative maintenance strategies with a strategic vision while adhering to established safety and quality procedures while striving to continually improve all facets of the business.



As a technical expert the Maintenance Manger will be responsible and committed to respecting the values of the organization with a focus on continual improvement and operational excellence. Innovative and efficient, they will be responsible for the performance and financial results of operational activities related to equipment at the site. In addition, they will have to ensure the constant improvement of internal processes and team development with a focus on enhancing the capacities of equipment to meet production targets all while maintaining safe work practices.



THE ROLE:

  • Lead, influence, motivate and liaise with team members and peers in a diverse working environment;
  • Foster a culture of safety, food safety, and waste reduction; ensure objectives are met while continually optimizing strategic vision by analyzing, planning and implementing process improvements;
  • Develop and manage preventive and routine maintenance programs to effectively minimize production downtime and improve equipment longevity;
  • Oversee equipment stockroom / spare parts inventory levels;
  • Conduct regular departmental tours and participate in meetings and safety inspections as needed;
  • Oversee parts Inventory accuracy and department budget relative to efficient plant operations; addressing variances;
  • Regularly assess performance of contractors and suppliers of goods and services;
  • Oversee and identify building maintenance corrective measures and corrective actions follow-up;
  • Monitor scheduling of team members to ensure proper staffing; identify staffing needs;
  • Proactively support development and job transfers to support workforce planning.




YOUR PROFILE:

  • Certification as, one or more of, a millwright, electrician, power engineer and 5 years of demonstrated experience as a maintenance manager is preferred;
  • Alternatively, 7-10 years progressive experience in technical services (maintenance, electrical or power engineering);
  • Required - post secondary education in a related discipline- or equivalent knowledge and experience;
  • Influential leader who has demonstrated credibility within the food industry with the ability to design a successful operational team over a 7/24 operation;
  • Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance along with sanitary design;
  • Committed to servicing all customers in a safety oriented environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal/listening skills in order to interact with a diverse workforce; a communicator with proven leadership abilities;
  • Demonstrated occupational health & safety and food safety competency (hazard recognition, legislation, safety practices);
  • Computer systems, Google and EAM experience;
  • Innovative, resourceful with a continuous improvement mindset;
  • Committed to personal and team development;
  • Outgoing, visible, and approachable with the ability to inspire and influence others;
  • Problem solver with the courage to lead change; resolve conflict; respected and respectful;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation;
