POSITION OVERVIEW

The Warehouse Safety Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, and facilitating warehouse safety programs. This individual will play an essential role in driving continuous improvement of safety procedures to reduce workplace incidents and promote safety excellence. Expertise developing warehouse safety and training procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and facilitate safety new hire orientation, training, and certification
• Conduct incident investigations, identify root cause, & implement corrective action
• Develop Job Hazard Analysis to identify potential hazards and controls.
• Consult with corporate safety to drive continuous improvement of safety
• Develop a site-specific safety improvement plan to enhance workplace safety.
• Conducts ongoing safety training and Train-the Trainer programs.
• Maintain appropriate training and safety certification records.
• Utilize the Incident Management System to monitor safety trends.
• Take appropriate actions regarding safety inspection, audit, or incident findings.
• Assist with counseling, coaching, and documentation of safety issues.
• Executes the Safety Cadence process to proactively manage safety.
• Develop and track safety metrics to evaluate effectiveness of safety programs.
• Conducts regular safety huddle meetings and distributes communications.

REQUIREMENTS :

• 5 years of safety experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment
• 3-5 years of experience designing and facilitating safety training
• 3-5 years PIV experience (Forklift a must)
• 3+ years of Incident Management System (e.g., Gensuite) experience
• Certified Safety and Health Trainer (CET), OSHA 30, Train-the-Trainer Certification
• Certification Powered Industrial Vehicle required (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
• Experience conducting workplace incident investigations
• Bachelor's Degree Environmental Health & Safety
