Associated Power Solutions, LLC (APS) is a Northern California based company that offers specialized electrical services to the power generation, oil, gas & chemical and industrial marketplace.

The Electrical Test Technician will travel to project sites in our Northern California service area.


Position Title: Electrical Test Technician

-Full-time position is based out of Concord, CA with the majority of the work being on the road at customer sites essentially 100% of the time.


About the Position :

APS is seeking an Electrical Field Test Technician (NETA II or equivalent) to join our team. This role involves the safe and efficient installation and testing of electrical power distribution equipment for customers. The technician will work independently and with a crew, managing routine to complex tasks, recording data, and preparing field service reports.


Responsibilities:

Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.

Observe testing, assign work on projects to capable technicians, ensure testing of similar items is consistent across test technicians.

Track project scope completion and communicate with customer management.

Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.

Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.

Test and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.

Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.

Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.

Sample and interpret insulated fluids.

Document test results and complete field reports.

Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical testing.
  • Experience working with a team on projects.
  • Familiarity with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards.
  • Knowledge of NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards.
  • Ability to travel regionally100%.
  • Knowledgeable in lockout/tag-out and hazardous energy control procedures.
  • Clean Driving Record and Drug-Free.


Nice-To-Have:

Current NETA Level 2 Certification.


Compensation:
