We are looking for a skilled Resident Construction Inspector to join our team for a project in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction inspection and quality assurance, along with the ability to effectively manage and coordinate onsite activities.

Water main line inspection or similar piping inspection STRONGLY preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate schedule updates for overall construction workflow, identify possible conflicts, and monitor tasks or deliveries that are delayed.
- Offer technical interpretation of construction drawings and specifications in coordination with the project or resident engineer.
- Support the resident engineer in interpreting and clarifying construction requirements, coordinating responses with project engineers and design teams.
- Prepare written responses for project controls assistants.
- Manage the review, tracking, and distribution of contractor submittals, ensuring coordination with relevant design disciplines for technical evaluations.
- Notify contractors of any missing or delayed submittals.
- Interpret contract documents for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).
- Oversee the assessment of change requests, claims, and cost proposals from contractors, coordinating with the project manager and preparing change orders.
- Assist in logging and tracking all issues, proposed changes, change orders, and claims.
- Manage the administration of project documentation, records, and onsite reporting.
- Ensure contractor's as-built records are accurate and complete, collecting them at the end of the project and forwarding to the project engineer.
- Supervise and perform inspections as required; schedule and witness field testing, including testing firms and field acceptance testing.
- Develop construction punch lists for substantial and final project completion.
- Coordinate and monitor quality assurance for all project disciplines onsite.
- Serve as the onsite liaison between the owner and contractor.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and ethical standards in accordance with company policies and contractual commitments. Supervise staff compliance.
- Review contractor payment requests and recommend approval to the owner.
- Assist in coordinating equipment startup operations and operator training, and take charge of these activities when necessary.
- Organize and lead pre-construction, weekly, monthly, and special construction meetings, and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
- Lead the team of inspectors and may supervise additional field staff.
Qualifications
- Soil and concrete testing experience preferred.
- Water main line inspection or similar piping inspection preferred.
- Certifications for concrete, compaction and civil tests preferred.
- Inspection certification preferred.
- 10+ years of field experience
- Associate's degree in a construction-related discipline or craft apprenticeship preferred.
