We are recruiting for a Lead Landscape Architect.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Lead Landscape Architect for our client, you will lead and manage complex site projects, ensuring high-quality design and client satisfaction. You will oversee the project lifecycle, from design to execution, while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with other disciplines. This role also involves business development, proposal preparation, and participation in client meetings to grow the landscape architecture practice.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Lead the technical and financial aspects of office projects.
  • Oversee the production of contract documents, ensuring all revisions and client comments are incorporated.
  • Actively participate in design reviews and document quality processes.
  • Manage junior team members' work hours, task assignments, and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to HAA's quality standards and client procedures.
  • Certify contract documents with your professional signature and state-issued seal.

Project Management:

  • Lead diverse site projects, ensuring profitability, design quality, schedule compliance, and client satisfaction.
  • Establish project plans and allocate resources effectively.
  • Communicate changes with clients and manage project scope and budget adjustments.
  • Coordinate consultants and attend internal and external meetings.
  • Assist with invoicing, contract execution, and overdue account collections.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering professional growth and an inclusive, collaborative culture.
  • Track and approve team timecards, ensuring adherence to project budgets.
  • Lead recruiting efforts in collaboration with Human Resources.

Business Development:

  • Collaborate with HAA Marketing on proposals, RFQs, and marketing presentations.
  • Identify new business opportunities and establish relationships with local consultants.
  • Attend relevant conferences and pre-bid meetings to represent HAA.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of team and project leadership experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of Vision accounting software is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of landscape architecture, urban planning, civil, structural, and environmental engineering.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning ordinances, and construction methods.
  • LEED Accredited Professional preferred.


Education:

  • Professional degree from an LAAB-accredited Landscape Architecture program.
  • Eligibility for certification with the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards.
