Fiber Optic Technicians at Next Level Technician will be working at a variety of Commercial and Industrial sites. These sites can include schools, hospitals, offices, retail stores, and industrial plants and warehouses.
Candidates seeking consideration for this position should be very knowledgeable on pulling, terminating, OTDR testing, and fusion splicing fiber optic cabling. This role will be a combination of ISP and OSP work, and technicians MUST be well versed in both.
Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer job duties will include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain fiber optic cables and equipment
- Perform fiber optic splicing and termination
-Experience splicing loose tube and ribbon fiber optic cabling
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues
- Conduct fiber optic cable routing and management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project completion within deadlines
Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge for handling fiber optic cables and equipment
- Electrical knowledge for working with low voltage systems
- Familiarity with fiber optic splicing and termination techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot network issues
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients
Licenses and Certifications pertaining to fiber optic cabling are preferred.
