Cook (PM) - Pie Room by Curtis Stone
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Cook to join our team at Pie Room by Curtis Stone. This role focuses on preparing high-quality braises, stocks, jams, and relishes while occasionally assisting with production tasks in the bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating flavorful foundations and accompaniments and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook braises, stocks, jams, and relishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Monitor cooking processes, adjusting temperatures and timings to ensure optimal flavor and texture.
• Assist with bakery production tasks as needed, such as scaling ingredients or preparing components.
• Maintain an organized and efficient workstation, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to food safety protocols.
• Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and bakery teams to streamline workflows and meet production schedules.
• Manage inventory for assigned areas, reporting shortages and ensuring proper stock levels.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a kitchen focused on braises, stocks, or preserves.
• Strong understanding of flavor development and cooking techniques for stocks and jams.
• Familiarity with bakery production is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
Working Conditions:
• Flexible schedule, including potential early mornings or weekends, depending on production needs.
• Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
