Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS)/Navy Personnel Command (NPC) of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND. Responsibilities You will receive, compile, and analyze manning request. You will process personnel actions according to regulations. You will update customers on the status of their Request for Personnel Action (RPA). You will research and provide explanations regarding rules, regulations and procedures to military personnel actions. You will retrieve data from various sources for use in answering questions, preparing correspondence and developing reports. You will coordinate with Commands and develop recommended solutions to meet manning requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ???????GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing military personnel records and correspondence to determine eligibility for various personnel actions; 2) Identifying and correcting inaccurate data in personnel systems; effects required corrective personnel actions; 3) Establishing and maintaining files and data associated with a variety of military personnel actions; 4) Interpreting policy and data to respond to inquiries pertaining to military personnel actions, including entitlements, benefits, and eligibility for various programs; 5) Originating correspondence associated with the administration of military personnel actions; 6) Retrieving data from various information sources in answering questions, preparing correspondence, and developing reports/briefings; and 7) Making additions, revisions, or deletions to service records or files to keep them current.
