Job Purpose
The HR Administrator supports the key human resources functions, including managing employee leave processes and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies. This role involves collaborating with employees, supervisors, and management to facilitate HR -related tasks, such as leave coordination, workplace accommodations, and other employees support initiatives.

Established in 1970, Serving Seniors helps San Diego County's low-income seniors overcome poverty through whole-person, wraparound support including meals, housing, health and social services, and enrichment activities. We work at numerous sites across the county and in the homes of hundreds of homebound seniors. Our flagship Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center in downtown San Diego is unlike any other senior center in the nation. Bringing together a range of supportive services under one roof, the Senior Wellness Center operates 365 days a year and offers two floors of integrated care, including health and social services, housing navigation, enrichment activities, lifelong learning, a Cyber Caf and linkage to over 25 onsite direct service partners, including a senior dental center. Last fiscal year, we provided over 1,400,000 meals and coordinated services to 6,800 older adults.

Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
•Administer, counsel, process, all employee LOA requests, including FMLA, ADA, disability, military leave, personal leave, WC, and other types of leave.
•Monitors and tracks absences status, documentation, return to work dates.
•Monitors and tracks all paid and unpaid leaves of absences.
•Coordinates with department managers to evaluate modified work or work schedules, as needed.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding leave entitlements and protections.
•Serve as primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding WC and leave-related inquiries and issues.
•Educate employees and managers on leave policies and procedures, providing guidance and support throughout the leave process.
•Ensure timely, accurate and consistent communication with employees regarding the status of their leave requests, required documentation, and return-to-work procedures.
•Provide clear and concise communication to employees about their rights and responsibilities under various leave policies.
•Coordinate with HR and Payroll to manage the financial and benefit implications of employee leaves.
•Collaborate with VP of Human Resources as needed to manage complex leave cases.
•Maintain accurate records of leave requests, approvals, and denials, and ensure all documentation is complete.
•Coordinate with managers to facilitate a smooth transition for employees returning from leave, including accommodation requests and job modifications.
•Collaborate with the HR team on projects and initiatives.
•Assist in coordinating various HR programs and initiatives such as recruitment, onboarding, training and development, and benefits administration.
•Address employee inquiries and escalate complex issues to the HR Generalist and VP of Human Resources as needed.
•Maintain an adequate supply of employee swag for the department.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience in leave administration, benefits administration, or a related HR role.
- In-depth knowledge of CA FMLA, ADA, WC, and other relevant laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: - Experience with Paylocity systems a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, outlook, word, and teams
- Proficiency with excel.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Able to learn and adapt to new technologies, software, and systems quickly
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in work output.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and change timelines.

Working Conditions: - Hybrid position - office provided onsite.
- Position is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.
