Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details Be responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care for Critical Care patients. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures. Perform various patient tests and administer medications within your scope of practice. Promote patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and their family to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Regular and predictable attendance is an ESSENTIAL job function. Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned. Job Requirements State of Idaho (or compact) RN license prior to start (can submit candidates with application pending). 2 years of recent ICU experience (minimum of 1 year w/in the past 3 years). 1 year of recent CVICU experience and/or immediate post open heart experience is ALSO required. Must have previous travel experience. IABP and Impella experience within the past year is required (highly sought-after cardiac device). Schedule Information 12-hour shifts. Willing to consider 36- to 60-hours/week contracts. No Call requirements. Weekends and holidays as needed. Unable to approve time off requests outside of initial contract or extensions. Unit Specific Information Critical Care has a combined total of 32 beds: two 13 bed units and 6 overflow beds on 2 floors, ran as one unit. Patient population consists of 2 - 4 CV surgery cases (CABG, valve, TAVR, ECMO) per day, trauma varies based on season (ATV/watersports to winter/skiing accidents, MVAs), neurosurgical and complex spinal surgery, general medical.
