Job Description
Job Title: Experienced litigation Legal Secretary Seeking a highly skilled litigation legal secretary with extensive e-filing experience in both bankruptcy and litigation. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of substantive experience in civil litigation and have some bankruptcy cases. Office is located in Downtown Los Angeles and a hybrid (3 days in two days from home) schedule is offered after the initial probationary period. Firm offers paid parking, paid lunch, a collaborative environment with team mixers and events, and much more Responsibilities: \u2022 File Motions for Relief, Proofs of Claim, and Notices related to creditor\u2019s rights in bankruptcy. \u2022 Update and manage calendars using internal case management and various software systems. \u2022 Coordinate with the team to meet internal and client deadlines while maintaining high standards of daily production. \u2022 Draft, revise, and finalize correspondence, pleadings (including tables of authorities), court forms, memoranda, and redline comparisons. \u2022 Conduct conflicts checks, open new client matters, and obtain conflicts waivers if necessary. \u2022 Draft and serve discovery documents. \u2022 Prepare and send correspondence and emails to clients and opposing parties. \u2022 Assist attorneys with arranging and preparing for depositions. \u2022 Support trial preparation and provide trial support. \u2022 Calendar relevant dates. \u2022 Process invoices, organize files, and prepare expense reports. \u2022 Arrange travel, meetings, depositions (both in-office and out-of-office), and remote court appearances. \u2022 Handle state, civil, complex federal, and appellate filings (manual and electronic) and service of pleadings. \u2022 Maintain and organize physical and electronic attorney files in accordance with department policies and procedures. \u2022 Attend training sessions offered by the firm as required or requested. \u2022 Produce documents, including creating flash drives and PDFs for client transmittal, along with hard copies. \u2022 Retrieve and assemble exhibits and hearing binders as needed. \u2022 Provide peer support. Requirements: \u2022 High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. \u2022 5-7 years of experience in a law firm at a litigation desk.
