Position Overview:
Pride Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team in Dedham, Massachusetts. This is a 40-hour per week, 13-week contract position offering guaranteed hours. This is an excellent opportunity for medical assistants looking to provide high-quality patient care and work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for office visits or outpatient procedures.
- Measure and document vital signs, weight, and update patient records.
- Assist physicians with medical procedures and perform clinical tasks as directed.
- Perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations and injections, and conduct vision/hearing screenings.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments.
- Handle prescription refills, medication prior authorizations, and patient communications.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with data collection for quality indicators.
- Schedule patient procedures and follow up on referrals as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Adhere to all hospital and regulatory policies, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide coverage for other physician offices as needed.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or equivalent training.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in phlebotomy, injection administration, and patient care techniques.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Other Requirements: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
