Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to support construction site safety management for their project in Princeton, NJ. This role is critical for ensuring a safe work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting site inspections, and fostering a culture of proactive safety compliance.

Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate pre-construction reviews and planning activities to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Conduct regular physical site inspections, risk assessments, and reviews of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) documents, providing actionable feedback for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders on the job site, including contractors, subcontractors, and site management teams, ensuring clear and concise safety protocols.
  • Proactively identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Notify responsible parties and escalate issues when immediate corrective actions are necessary.
  • Administer and enforce a progressive disciplinary program to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
  • Utilize basic computer operations to document inspections, generate reports, and track compliance metrics.

Qualifications (Must-Haves):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction site safety management experience, preferably on large-scale projects exceeding $10 million in value.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • A recognized Safety Professional Certification, such as BCSP, CSP, CHST, ASP, or GSP.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and their application to construction safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications (Plusses):

  • OSHA 500 certification, with the ability to conduct safety training.
  • Experience as a First Aid/CPR trainer.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish preferred) to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
