About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead and execute the agency's fundraising strategy. The CDO will be responsible for securing individual, corporate, and foundation contributions, as well as government grants and contracts. This role requires the development and implementation of a clear and passionate vision to achieve growth in all areas of fundraising. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, and coordination for the agency's development strategy, establish performance measures, and create a results-oriented team culture. The CDO will also be a key member of the executive team, providing advice and consultation on philanthropic issues.Candidates for the CDO position should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 7 years of senior leadership experience in fundraising, with a proven track record in developing major donor strategies. The role demands an experienced manager with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, a strong understanding of fundraising best practices, and a commitment to the agency's mission. The CDO will be expected to meet personal fundraising goals, maintain a donor portfolio, and work closely with the executive team to identify and steward gifts. Experience in marketing, communications, and extensive campaign management is also essential. The ideal candidate will be achievement-oriented, with excellent writing and presentation skills, and the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
