About the Role

The Company is in need of a Vice President of Development to spearhead greenfield solar and storage project activities in the Northeast. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of project development, with a focus on site origination and acquisition, project permitting, interconnection processes, and local stakeholder outreach. This role demands a leader with a deep understanding of renewable energy development, particularly in the Northeast, and a strong grasp of the associated permitting, zoning, and interconnection frameworks. The VP will also be tasked with managing project budgets, timelines, and a team of project developers, making self-direction, entrepreneurship, and strong communication skills essential.Applicants for the Vice President of Development position at the company must possess a proven track record in the energy sector, demonstrating the ability to drive progress independently and effectively manage a development team. The role requires a candidate who is a self-starter, a problem-solver, and a strong communicator, with a high level of organization, attention to detail, and resourcefulness. Strong knowledge of energy markets and solar technology is a must, as is the ability to engage in public speaking and to interface with a variety of stakeholders, including landowners, neighbors, and municipal officials. The ideal candidate will be based in the Northeast, with a preference for the Boston or NYC Metro area, and will be prepared to travel to project locations as needed.
