About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to serve as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and fulfill the role of the System's CHRO. This executive will be a key leader in the organization, responsible for the strategic management of human resources to support the System's mission and goals. The CHRO will provide oversight of labor, collective bargaining, and HR functions, and will be expected to lead through influence, advance HR capabilities, and serve as a strategic partner with the System's 12 institutions. The successful candidate will be a highly driven executive with a proven record of leading change, an innovative mindset, and a strong vision for equity and inclusion. They must have a Bachelor's degree and significant leadership experience in HR, labor relations, law, or policy, with a preference for a Master's degree and professional certification in HR.Key responsibilities for the CHRO include providing senior-level guidance and support on priority initiatives, developing and implementing executive compensation studies, and leading the office of human resources in policy development and compliance. The role also involves serving as a liaison for legal matters, managing labor relations, and overseeing the system's HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a background in a large, complex, and unionized environment, with experience in managing organizational change and a strong understanding of legal and regulatory HR requirements. Personal qualities should include the ability to build trust, operate with transparency, and lead with integrity, while being a problem solver and a fair, compassionate leader. The CHRO will be expected to work closely with diverse constituents and stakeholders, both internally and externally, and to align HR strategies with the System's vision for the future.
