Description
  • The purpose of this class is to coordinate the operations of the County Court.
Job Responsibilities
  • Maintains and coordinates the court's daily docket and scheduling.
  • Conducts status conferences, dispositions and disposition conferences in criminal cases.
  • Schedules pleas, motions to suppress, motions for discovery, motions to revoke probation, punishment hearings, and bond reduction hearings.
  • Appoints attorneys for indigent defendants and monitors those defendants that waive appointment for counsel.
  • Prepares bond dockets for defendants out on bond.
  • Prepares criminal trial docket according to jail and bond cases.
  • Schedules Administrative Hearings.
  • Addresses defendant jail mail; resolves or directs to appropriate department of person.
  • Orders jury panel for all cases; makes transportation and meal arrangements.
  • Participates in and schedules status and pre-trial conferences.
  • Schedules minor settlement hearings, trials before the court, discovery motions, motions to compel, and motions for sanction.
  • Appoints Ad Litem in civil cases.
  • Prepares civil trial docket.
  • Runs monthly reports of pending civil and criminal cases.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires Bachelor's degree.
  • Requires two years of experience in court administration, legal assistance or closely related experience.
