POSITION: SALES ASSOCIATE
The Sales Associate will be responsible for supporting sales efforts, lead management, and assisting with implementation. Duties will include managing customer relationships, facilitating sales and associated tasks within the sales department, and preparing product demonstrations. This role will be the “go-to” support person for a variety of sales related functions. The Sales Associate will need to develop new leads and prospects, while interacting with existing customers and Client Liaisons, to increase use of OptiMed’s products and/or services. The Sales Associate will work with customers to trend needs, purpose solutions and ensure a smooth client experience.
Primary responsibilities are:
- Understanding and promoting sales processes.
- Communicating new product and service opportunities, market developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity (to appropriate sales management and company staff).
- Following-up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity and market needs.
- Scheduling appointments and activities for sales staff.
- Supporting client efforts surrounding analysis or RFP’s (Requests For Proposals).
- Supporting events and coordination of in-person meetings with sales staff.
- Preparing a variety of status reports, including activity, closing stats, follow-ups, and achievement towards goals (objectives and key performance indicators).
- Preparing needed paperwork to activate and maintain contractual relationships.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Develop and implement sales activities as required for business needs.
- Coordinating sales efforts with marketing.
- Coordinating program training efforts among departments.
- Provide timely sales updates that focus on territory strengths, weaknesses and account specific opportunities and threats.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct reports and works cross-functionally with Manager, Client Services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, economics or related field and 1-3 years of experience in the PBM, Pharmacy Consulting, Health Plan, TPA or related industries. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver presentations in many mediums (including remote and live speaking opportunities). Previous sales or sales training experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy or insurance industry is preferred. This person will be required to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public. They will be expected to support project management and showcase cross-functional team collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, drive results and achieve deadlines is key.
