Certification Details BLS ACLS PALS Georgia RT license Job Details Large Hospital in Southwestern GA is in need of an RRT for a 13 week contract. RRT will work in ICU/ER settings. Job Requirements Must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Georgia RT license. Critical Care experience required. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience and 1 travel contract. Schedule Information Shifts: 645 am and pm starts; can clock in 638am-646am or 638pm-646pm. Weekend Requirement: M-Thurs team and a weekend team; you will work M-Th or F-Sun teamhours will shift, will be noted in job posting which hours needed. Holidays: Rotated in with perm staff; every other holiday can be expected. Unit Specific Information Unit: Respiratory Additional Details Strict 75 mile radius rule Will interview with our internal RN's and then their profile and the internal notes are sent to Phoebe for approval, NO Second interview will be needed. Unit: Respiratory treatments per day: Therapists do 550 minutes per shift, average of 15 minutes per treatment. Average of 13-15 patients per shift EMR: Meditech Charge RT: Yes, run a Charge and Clinical Coordinator Call: None Scrub Color: Ceil blue, can wear ceil blue jacket only Floating: n/a Floor specific orientation: For floor assignments, first week is hospital and charting orientation; next week list lightened, take 300 min first day, 400 next and then 500 next and then on their own; For ICU, they will add another week of orientation Types of patients (adults, peds, and neonates?): NICU RTs are under nursing manager for NICU; they are separate from adult needs; adult will do peds to adults Duties: All RT duties such as nebs, airway management, vapotherm, bipap, cpap, vents, ABG collection, bedside pfts, CPT, in ICU the RT will place A line, manage blood gases, will intubate, do bronchs Common Patient disease processes: COPD, CHF, pneumonia, resp failure, ARDS, cancers, etc Additional Notes: Assignments are based on units; in ICU for example are up to 4 airways per therapist (airway considered a vent, heated aerosol trach off vent, etc); Average 11 therapists on days and 10 or 11 on nights based on unit needs; floor therapist needs minimum one year experience, if critical care need minimum of 2 years Additional Questions: Are they able to work critical care? They must be able to work adult ICU and work the vents. They will teach them A lines, will need to feel confident making suggestions for vent management, read ABGs and alert critical values.
