Certification Details BLS ACLS NIHSS Job Details A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU nurse for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 3 full years of experience. Job Requirements Active BLS certification Active ACLS certification Active NIHSS certification California License CERNER experience required No first time travelers allowed Schedule Information Contract length: 13 weeks Shifts: 12 hours; 7a - 7:30p / 7p - 7:30a Every other weekend or equivalent of 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule 1/2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law) Unit Specific Information Unit Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit Floating to any MedSurg/Tele units required Nurses must participate in multidisciplinary rounds Additional Details ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Basic EKG interpretation test assigned during orientation Unit: ICU and ICU-CV Recovery beds: 24 Beds (with the capacity to go up to 32 beds) Ratios: 1 to 1, 1 to 2 Intensivist on the unit from 7a - 5p & on-call after hours Charge Nurse: Yes - Rarely take patients Tele: Spacelabs Monitoring - 24/7 monitor techs on this unit Types of patients: Respiratory failure, sepsis, AMI, ARDS, GI bleed, CABG, TAVR, Impella, vascular surgeries, neuro surgeries, CVAs
